FLOURISH is a mentorship journey for the women of CrossCity Christian Church. Flourish is always open to new registrations. FLOURISH connects seasoned women of faith with younger women of faith in an organic way to provide space for a mentoring relationship. These relationships are meant to be encouraging, real, and authentic. They provide a space for women to connect one-on-one in their walks with Jesus.

The goal of FLOURISH is to open the Word together and spur one another on. Jesus modeled this idea of mentorship in His journey through life on earth with his disciples. We seek to grow deeper in our faith and share life together.

FLOURISH is open to mentees college-aged or above. High School students are encouraged to seek mentorship through CrossCity’s Student Ministry.

The goal is to meet in person with your mentor once per month in order to grow in a connecting relationship. In order for the soil to be watered in this relationship, we encourage weekly check-ins utilizing some form of technology such as text message, Marco Polo, Zoom, FaceTime or phone. This is a time to share what you are learning in your devotional time, to check-in, and prayer together.

Some mentor-mentee duos will end up meeting more in person, (our preferred form of contact) but it is really about finding what mode of communication works best for both of you. We encourage you to share what will work best for you with your mentor from the beginning.

The great part about FLOURISH is that it seeks to accomodate age, life stage, and previous time commitments offering a variety of options to choose to participate in with your mentor. Again, the goal is opening the Word of God together however that may look.

Each mentor and mentee will receive a resource book that includes a weekly study, FLOURISH: A Mentoring Journey published by LifeWay through Passion City Church. To go along with this, some mentor-mentees may choose to add the following options:

• YouVersion Bible App Devotionals – Choose Topics together
• Read a Daily Devotion Book
• Read a book that follows the current session

The commitment we ask is for you and your mentor to say YES for 9 months to 1 year walking alongside another woman in the faith.

Here’s the time break-down:

• Meet face-to-face (or via Zoom) once per month
• Find a means of communication to check in weekly that works for both of you

Some women choose to continue meeting with their mentor after the FLOURISH “program season” is over if the mentor is able to do so. Others decide to close out the chapter of mentoring. Some mentee’s sign up to be mentors the following year or find their next form of connection at CrossCity (i.e. joining weekly Bible Study, participating in Rooted etc.). This is flexible and we encourage you to talk to your mentor towards the end of the program so you both are able to make the best decision with you both in mind.

The leadership team of FLOURISH gathers together with all the mentor and mentee applications and prayerfully matches applications with great intention. We consider many factors when pairing a mentor/mentee. We will do our best and will take any specific requests into consideration that you list on your application.

Each mentor in FLOURISH has a captain who is there to support them throughout their journey with their mentee(s). They are also an available resource to you as the mentee. Your mentor’s Captain will be at all the FLOURISH EVENTS. You will have the contact information for your mentor’s Captain and they will be an available resource should you need their help during the FLOURISH program.

Yes, we believe that you should call CrossCity your church home to be a part of this mentoring journey. Your mentor will also be attending CrossCity.

Yes, the cost for mentees is $48 – covering the cost of the book and program expenses. We value excellency and want to provide you with a great experience for your time in FLOURISH and this amount will help make this year possible.

FLOURISH is open to mentors 30+ or who have gone through and entire year of the FLOURISH program.

Are you pursing Christ with your life? Do you desire to walk alongside others, pray for one another, hold one another accountable? Are you yourself open to being mentored or have an informal mentor in your spiritual life? Is the Word a part of your daily and weekly rhythms?

This program is not about being “perfectly” seasoned in your faith in order to mentor. It is about your heart to serve another woman and walk with them. There is no such thing as “perfect maturity” by the way!! Jesus is the only one who is perfect and the goal is seeking to follow His example.

Mentors do not have all the answers – in fact that is not what we want as mentors for FLOURISH. We will equip you with resources when you feel stuck, you will have a Captain who is there to partner with you, and a group of other fellow mentors to lean on for support, ideas and encouragement as well. You are NOT alone.

The commitment we ask is for you to be available for 9 months to 1 year to walk alongside another woman in her faith.

• Attend Mandatory Mentor Training if there is one Scheduled
• Meet face-to-face with your mentee (or via Zoom) once per month
• Find a means of communication to check in weekly that works for both of you
• Attend 2 Mentor Encouragement sessions. These are meant to foster community among mentors, providing training, support, and times of prayer through the journey.
• Meet twice throughout the program with your Captain and her group of mentors she oversees for continued encouragement and accountability.

Session dates are TBD and will be communicated to you throughout the year. We highly encourage you to participate in these events so you feel connected to a larger community of Women! Your monthly meetings with your Mentor can be set up during your first face-to-face gathering so that you can both keep them a priority in your schedule for the next 9-12 months.

Some women will choose to continue meeting with their mentee after the FLOURISH “program season” is over. Others decide to close out the chapter of mentoring encouraging their mentee to sign up to be a mentor the following year or find their next form of connection at CrossCity (i.e. joining weekly Bible Study, participating in Rooted, etc.). These gatherings are a way to connect with each other and gather new ideas from the group that can be helpful for you and their mentor/mentee journey.

You will have the contact information for your Captain and they will be your first line of contact with FLOURISH. Each Captain is supported by the FLOURSIH leadership team as well.
